Cooperative members benefit from direct access at European level to EU activity.

This will enable cooperative members to input into the decision making process, influence ESF positions and actions and participate in ESF working groups. Read more Cooperative members benefit from direct access at European level to EU activity.

The working groups will be issue based and formed to influence EU policy, inputting at the highest level. Cooperative members must retain their national trade association memberships to ensure we interact fully with senior policy makers, both at European and national level to bring the maximum influence.

Who are the cooperative members:
Enterprises that are operating as suppliers of PPE provided they themselves, belong to at least one national organisation that is an effective member of the association and retain membership in all national organisations (effective members of E.S.F.) wherein they are members at the time of accession. If one of these conditions is not met, the General Assembly may allow a departure from the rules. Such a decision shall be taken by majority vote.

Voting right:
Cooperative members shall hold no voting right in the General Meeting and cannot be elected to a directorship. They can become members of committees in which they have an interest.

Become a member:
The candidate-member shall address his request for nomination to the president of the Board of Directors, who in turn shall immediately pass it on to the other Board members. Any Board member may submit within a term of 30 days following the written notification of the request, a negative opinion in writing to the chairman. A candidate member for which no negative opinion was released, becomes automatically a provisional member after expiry of the period of thirty (30) days. The membership shall be ratified at the next General Assembly meeting. In case a negative opinion is submitted, the nomination for cooperative membership shall be deliberated on by the Board Meeting in the course of its first following meeting, who takes a provisional decision on the admission as cooperative member. The next General Assembly will finally decide on the refusal or approval of the membership as a cooperative member. At this General Assembly meeting shall be at least two / third (2/3rd) of the members present or represented. The decision shall be taken by a two / thirds (2/3rd) majority. Until this meeting, the candidate-member is a provisional member and the membership fees are due.

Membership:
Cooperative members shall pay a membership fee to be determined annually by the General Assembly meeting. Membership shall become effective only following payment of the membership fee.
