The EU Commission published, on the 17th of March 2017, the first version of the FAQ document on the transition from PPE Directive 89/686 to the PPE Regulation 2016/425. Some questions remain unanswered, but good to see a first set of answers.

We understand that, particularly on the question of the validity of EC type examination certificates (see art 47.2 of the Regulation), further clarification is being developed by the Commission, this considering potential capacity issues.
ESF is working with the Commission on this important issue. Concluding that all PPE must be re-certified before 21/04/2019, is therefore pre-mature
